Yesterday he let me know that he wants more lunch in his lunch. Can do kiddo.
Some people often think that there isn’t enough food in most bentos. But they’d be surprised if they packed (or unpacked) one themselves. You can get A LOT of food into even a small bento box. I learned that from experience when I first started two years ago.
I didn’t have any ‘real’ bento boxes when I started so I used what I had on hand. Gladware. It took SO MUCH food to fill up that box. I mean really fill it. If you actually “bento” to the max you use EVERY spec of space in that box. Here’s a look of my Very First bento. Man that was a lot of work. I’ve come a long way!
So today I put a lot more in than usual. That half a sandwich is actually a whole sandwich (two halves stacked) There are a BUNCH of carrots and celery. That little space is very deep. The ‘chips’ are new. A prize I won from a recent giveaway. They’re Snickiddy “Eat Your Vegetables” (sea salt flavor). The thought of Vegetable chips made my tongue curl, but I tried them.. they are light and crisp and quite yummy. (Mommy is a picky eater). Finally, there is a whole satsuma orange and a small handful of Holiday Goldfish.
