Kids Bug Bento Lunch For School

Bug Bento Kids School Lunch - Healthy Ideas From GlorysMischief.comSo I if I have the day right – and I’ve double checked – Today in KC’s classroom they are getting a visit from “The Bug Man”.  So of course I thought it would be fun to make a bug bento.

I dug out my Halloween goodies early to use the Spider food picks.

Gel Food Color and Edible markers were used for the Praying Mantis (Isn’t it CUTE?).  To give it a little more dimension, I used a homemade icing eye.  If you don’t have homemade – Wilton makes Icing eyes too.

I used more food color to color some cheese and cut shapes for the dragonfly.  And finished with Nori eyes (using a regular sized hole punch)

And finally I picked up some creepy crawlies from the Dollar Tree, and chose the centipede to top the celery.

I had a lot of fun planning and putting this one together.
